Mrs. Alphasean W. Gunn was born July 19, 1937 to the late Alex and Mary Butler Weakley in Lauderdale County, Alabama.
She retired from Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, then volunteered at Handy Head Start with the Foster Grandmother Program.
She departed this life peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: James Wilson and Albert Gunn, her beautiful daughter, V. Diana White, two brothers: Oscar and Leonard Weakley, and her dear sister, Gloria Weakley Moore all of Florence, Alabama.
Mrs. Gunn’s memories will be cherished by a devoted family: two sisters: Ms. Virginia Weakly and Ms. Marvine Weakley both of Florence, Alabama, one son, Mr. David Allen Wilson, Sr., (Carolyn,) three grandsons, Mr. David Allen Wilson, Jr., (Marquita), Mr. Kristofer Thompson, Florence, Alabama, and Mr. Jason Thompson of Mobile, Alabama, four granddaughters: Mrs. Katyna Petty (Marvin), Mrs. Cheroketia Swinney of Florence, Alabama, Mrs. Juandreas Sykes (Roderick) Sheffield, Alabama, and Mrs. Velvette Redden (Andrew) of Evergreen, Alabama, sixteen great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and many other wonderful nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
