Willie Edward Madden

Willie "Catfish" Madden was born on May 3, 1956 in Colbert County, Alabama to the late Lucy Mae Ricks and Percy King. He was a 1976 graduate of Colbert County High School. Upon graduation Willie joined the United States Army where he remained in active duty until 1983. After being discharged from the Army, Willie moved to Newark, New Jersey and began working for the United States Postal Service. Several years later "Catfish" moved back to Alabama. After returning to Alabama he joined in fellowship with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles Orr. 

On December 2, 2023, he transitioned at his residence in Roswell, Georgia. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: Father, Mr. Percy King, Newark, New Jersey. Sisters: Caral Madden Anderson, Sheffield, Alabama, Diane (Omega) Smith, Bossier City, Louisiana, Linda Stover, Charleston, South Carolina, Brenda and Cathy Stover both of Newark, New Jersey. Brothers: Patrick (Wanda) Madden, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; Lee Ricks, Jr., Sugar Hills, Georgia and Jack Stover, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Uncles: Willie Carter, Chattanooga, Tennessee; Edward King, Sheffield, Alabama. Aunts: Rose King, Newark, New Jersey, Ailene Jackson, Muscle Shoals, Alabama and Lizzie King, Huntsville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and "Special Friends."
