William Ralph Roach, Jr. was born in Florence, Alabama, on February 3, 1954, to the late Velma and William Roach, Sr. He was a member of the Petersville Missionary Baptist Church of Florence, Alabama. William also confessed his life to Christ at an early age.
William did many things in his life: gardening, bush hogging, cutting trees, and working on all types of cars. He loved his racing cars and motorcycles. He was employed at the Florence City Department as a Mechanic. William was the Jack of all trades and whatever you needed done, he was the man to call on.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Velma and William Roach; one brother, James Otis Roach.
William is survived by his two children, Gregory Desmond Roach (Leigh) and Shonda Denise Smith; and their mother, Wanda Jackson; one stepson, Kenny Garth; six sisters, Virginia Hampton, Annie Garth, Mary Sistrunk, Mattie (David) Ingram, Carolyn (Ralph) Barnett, and Mollie (Darryl) Hughes; and a host of grandchildren, great granddaughters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
