William H. Mitchell was born November 28, 1944 to the late Jake Mitchell, Sr., and Martha L. Simmons Mitchell.
He departed his earthly life November 6, 2019, at 7:54 am at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his wife, of 54 years, Gleria Dean Green Mitchell, his brothers: Jake Mitchell Jr, Curtis Mitchell and Frankie Mitchell,
sisters-in-law: Louise Green-Ricks and Salistine Billings.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion M.B. Church and later joined Red Bank M.B. Church, where he served until his death.
He worked for several plants, Broadhead Cooks Furniture Store and Flour Mill, he retired from Monsanto in 1979.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his two daughters: Melissa Mitchell, and LaVeeta (Leonard) Reedus of Town Creek, Alabama, five grandchildren: Lisa, CaWana, William J. Mitchell, Mykeal and Domiryick Steward, four great-grandchildren: Tylan Hampton, Kadarrius Bean, Tyreion Sharpley and Tyson Turner, six sisters: Hattie Sue Mitchell, Janice L. Mitchell, Martha E. Mitchell, Louise Merriweather, Lucy Mitchell and Gearline Mitchell, one brother, Raymond (Marilyn) Mitchell, two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Mitchell and Christine (Bruce Cal), three brothers-in-law, Jerry (Ann) Green, Richard (Shirley) Green and Kent Green and one ex son-in-law, Henry Simmons, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Mr. Mitchell will lie in the sanctuary one hour prior to the funeral service. Reverend Lymos McDonald, Pastor
