Wanda White Obituary

Mrs. Wanda Jean Ricks White was born on November 22, 1962, to the late Ms. Thelma Helen Ricks and the late Mr. Tommy Lee (Chalk) Lynch. She departed this earthly life on June 6, 2025, at her residence. Wanda accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. James M. B. Church Leighton under the leadership of the late Reverend Frank Roach, Sr. She remained at St. James and served on the Kitchen Committee under the leadership of the now pastor, Reverend Dr. Green Davidson III.

Wanda was a 1982 Colbert County High School graduate and a licensed cosmetologist. She also worked at Muscle Shoal Nursing Home in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Sunbridge Nursing Home in Tuscumbia, Alabama, until her health started to fail her. Because of her love for the elderly, even in her sickness she would help as a sitter and care giver.

Wanda was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Aaron White.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ms. Thelma Helen Ricks and Mr. Tommy Lee (Chalk) Lynch; husband, Mr. Aaron White; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Lynch Blair; and one brother, Mr. Percy Lynch.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her two loving and devoted daughters, Taquita Ricks Cole (Javarius Cole) and Zakyla Acklin, both of Sheffield, Alabama; one stepdaughter, TyKeshia White of Florence, Alabama; four grandsons, Zykurious White, William Davis, Jr., Javarius Cole, Jr., and Legend Cole, all of Florence, Alabama; five step-grandchildren, all of Florence, Alabama; two brothers, Lee Edward Ricks of Leighton, Alabama, and Larry Bruce Lynch of Fayetteville, North Carolina; five sisters, Evelyn Gail Ricks of Florence, Alabama, Robin Ricks of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Adean Lynch Hogan of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Brenda Lynch White (Jerrol) of Florence, Alabama, and Barbara Faye Lynch of Leighton, Alabama; two brothers-in-law, Mark White of Leighton, Alabama, and Bernard Blair of Tuscumbia, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Brenda White and Alene White, both of Leighton, Alabama; three aunts, Mildred Christina Gardner of Leighton, Alabama, Dorothy Ann (Willie James Walker) Ricks of Sheffield, Alabama, and Emma Sue Lynch of Hillsboro, Alabama; one great-aunt, Evelyn Neloms of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; six uncles, Robert (Flora) Ricks, Frankie Lee Ricks, Walter (Rebecca) Ricks, Willie H. (Diane) Ricks, all of Sheffield, Alabama, Earnest Lee (Brenda) Ricks of Town Creek, Alabama, and George Leon Ricks of Leighton, Alabama; two close friends, Anita Vinson and Tricia Fuqua, both of Leighton, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
