Vickie Teresa McDade, fondly known as Lisa, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on November 21, 2024, at her home in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Born on November 30, 1960, in Sheffield, Alabama, Lisa was a beacon of love and faith throughout her 63 years of life.
Lisa's early years were spent in Tuscumbia and later in Sheffield, where she grew up surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Lula Ellen Trotter (Montgomery) and Albert Gunn. Lisa shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings, Ruby Jewel Hogan, Dorothy Jean Pride, Brenda Diane Trotter, Teresa Diane Trotter, Horace Ellis Trotter, and Ruben Jean Trotter who has preceded her in death.
She has a beloved sister Mary E. Coleman, her only surviving sister, who will continue to honor Lisa's memory. The family circle was completed by her devoted husband, Thomas L. McDade Sr., who preceded her in death. She leaves behind a daughter, Luphelia A. McDade and four grandchildren, Montavius D. McDade, Aniyah J. Mitchell, Christon T. Fuqua, and Liani T. Fuqua.
Lisa's quest for knowledge and self-improvement led her to Northwest Shoals Community College, where she broadened her horizons and equipped herself with skills that would serve her well throughout her career. Professionally, Lisa dedicated her life to serving others with compassion and diligence, first as a caretaker and then as a skilled typist. Her work was not just a job; it was a manifestation of her innate desire to help and connect with people.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Lisa's life was enriched by her love for music and game shows. These interests were more than just hobbies; they were the avenues through which she expressed her joy for life and her connection with those she loved. Whether it was humming a tune or cheering on a contestant, Lisa's enthusiasm was infectious and brought smiles to many faces.
Those who knew Lisa would describe her as a loving and thoughtful person. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and interactions. Lisa's faith-filled life was evident in the grace with which she treated others, the strength she showed in times of adversity, and the hope she carried in her heart. Lisa's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. She touched numerous lives with her gentle spirit and selfless nature. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
