Varian Keith Qualls

Mr. Varian Keith Qualls was born on September 4, 1969, to Dorothy Qualls and the late Daniel Allen.

He departed his life suddenly on September 24, 2023, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama.

At an early age, he confessed Christ and a became a member of Mount New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Leighton, Alabama. Later, he joined New Birth Ministries in Florence, Alabama.

He grew up in Leighton, Alabama, where he graduated from Colbert County High School, Class of 1987. He furthered his education at Northwest Shoals Community College, and Baker College. He was currently working on a master’s degree in CPA at McComb College in Warren, Michigan. Keith was employed with Medical Associates Inc. in Pointe, Michigan. He was currently employed at International Paper Mill in Rome, Georgia, for 10 years, working as a Winder Crew Leader.

Keith married Shannon Patterson on November 19, 2020, where they shared almost three years of marriage. Keith was a guy that was easy to love because he loved people. Cooking, working, and enjoying friends and family was his happy place.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Allen, his grandparents, Ollie Mae and Grant Qualls, Mary and Robert Allen, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories:

A loving and devoted wife, Shannon Qualls of Florence, AL; his loving mother, Dorothy Qualls; his loving children, Tobias Oshae Qualls, Quadria Sanaye Qualls, Nasjah Ayamna Qualls, Justice Kabrea (Allen) Garner, Olivia Shantae Qualls, and Varian Keith Qualls, Jr.; one stepson, Shun Patterson; nine grandchildren, Tarilyn Hubbard, Nasir Hubbard, Arya Graham, Laela Qualls, Keon Qualls, Aubree Perio; two brothers, Daniel Allen, Jr. and Kevin Qualls.; four sisters, Gwyn Hughes, Constance King, Veronica Allen, and Tenisha Garth; aunts, Willia Qualls Jones, Josie Qualls Burgess, Annie Pearl Qualls, Linda (Frank) King, Clementine Marshall, Essie Bell Ricks, and Patricia Allen; one uncle, Michael (Greta) Allen; stepmother, Susie Allen; sisters and brothers in Love, Yolanda Johnson, Terry Patterson, Melissa Waktins, Arleace Patterson, Sabrina (Lou) Jordan, Michael Patterson, Patricia Watts; best friend since 3rd grade, Bobby Horrison; and other relatives and friends.
