Teresa Yvette Powers Hodges entered this life on March 9, 1966, in Colbert County AL to the late Lula Devere Minor & Woodson Powers Jr.
She departed this life on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Helen Keller Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
Teresa was a 1984 graduate of Colbert County High School in Leighton, Alabama. She went on to attend Alabama A&M University in Normal, AL.
She worked at Gold Kist Poultry in Russellville AL for many years. Later in life she became disabled and stayed home and took care of her husband, son and grandchildren until the time of her death.
She accepted Christ at an early age at St. James Baptist Church in Leighton, AL and then she went on to fellow shipped with Love Chapel in Trinity, AL.
Teresa was a loving and caring person who enjoyed life. She never met a stranger. She would always meet you with a warm smile. Most of all she loved her family with all her heart. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her life and there was nothing she would not do for them. Teresa loved watching her soap operas late at night after settling down after a long day. Her hobbies she liked the most were playing cards with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: one daughter: Miesha Hodges; one brother: Jahara Powers; one nephew: Denford Powers Jr; one niece: Engozie Powers; one aunt: Earnestine Walker; one uncle: Willie Belue.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memory: Her loving husband of 37 years Noble Hodges Jr one son: Noble Hodges III (Courtney) and one stepson: Jenaurus “Bam” Almon (Sharee) both of Leighton, AL; Two grandchildren: Madisyn and Kannon Hodges and bonus grandchild: Kasadi Goodloe.
Siblings: Three brothers: Denford Powers and Eddie Powers both of Leighton, AL. and Rev. Anthony Bailey (Andrea) of North Carolina One special niece: Kamesha Powers of Madison, AL two nephews: Bradley Jackson of Leighton, AL and Marcus Powers of Florence, AL Two special cousins: Romelia Ford and Annie “Nita” Binson of Leighton, AL; A special and devoted sister-in-law: Pam Hodges of Harvest, AL; Four aunts: Edith Shaw of Muscle Shoals, AL, Lorene Jackson of Florence, AL; Earnestine Walker of Chicago, IL and Gloria Jackson of Milwaukee, WI; Two uncles: William Belue (Laura) of Tuscumbia, AL and Donald Ray Belue of Bessemer, AL. One sister-in-law: Annie Faye Hampton (Rufus) of Decatur, AL and Two brothers-in-law: Robert Hodges of Decatur, AL and Larry Hodges (Pam) of Harvest, AL and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other very close relatives and friends.
