Mr. Sylvester Gayden was born August 25, 1930. He was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. John T. Gayden II and Mary Alice Gayden. He departed this life on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Shoals Hospital in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and joined the Mt Zion Missionary Baptist church in Zion, Illinois, where he served on the Usher Board. He served in the United State Army and retired from the United State Navy, where he served his country faithfully. He drove trucks for Schneider trucking Company. He was preceded in death by one sister Pearlie. Inez Palmer, five brothers, Joseph, William, Charles, John, Larry. a daughter Mary Bankston. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 29 years Sallie M. Gayden of Muscle.
