Shirley Davis Obituary

Shirley Jean Madden Davis was born December 1, 1959, to the late Hardy O.D. Madden
and Gladys Jean Campbell Madden in Town Creek, Alabama. She confessed hope in Christ
at an early age and was baptized into the Body of Christ at Red Bank Missionary Baptist
Church, where, she served home until she met her husband Bobby Davis in 1994 and joined
with him in Holy Matrimony. They collectively joined First Baptist of Muscle Shoals City
later in life.
Mrs. Shirley Davis passed away at North Alabama Medical Center on May 21, 2019, in
Florence, Alabama.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Madden, a grandson, Jabarie Madden, and a
nephew, Carlos Madden.
Mrs. Shirley Davis was known by all who met her as a loving and sweet lady that would do
all she could whenever there was someone in need. She truly loved her family. She worked
at International Paper for 29 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, growing plants, going to
church and listening to R&B and Blues. She loved her grandchildren, going shopping for
them, and catching outside activities nearby.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Orlandus Madden (LaShonda) of Huntsville,
Alabama, and Jer’mah Madden of Tuscumbia, Alabama; two godsons, Leonard (Tiffany)
and Andy Shackleford; three daughters, Sheranda Madden of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and
Olandria and Amari Madden, both of Leighton, Alabama; one goddaughter, Dietrich
(Russell) Garner Orr of Courtland, Alabama; four grandchildren, Qentavious Harden and
Tristan Madden, both of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Paris Madden and Kenneth Long, both
of Huntsville, Alabama; stepfather, Harry Wilson of Long Beach, California; one brother,
Hardy Madden of Leighton, Alabama; one stepbrother, Ken (Mona) Coffey of Decatur,
Alabama; five sisters, Olivia (Jerry) Green and Carol Madden Holden, both of Town Creek,
Alabama, Christy Madden of Sheffield, Alabama, Wanda (Richard) Vaughn and Mattie
(Robert) Watkins, both of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; one stepsister, Kim (Harold) Robinson
of Hillsboro, Alabama; four uncles, Levon Madden of Town Creek, Alabama, Lee C. Hood,
Larry (Annette) Hood and Lovse (Queen) Hood, all of Buffalo, New York; six aunts, Leatha
Madden, Angela (Kerry) Freeman and Annie (Bobby) Shackleford, all of Town Creek,
Alabama, Earnestine Martin of Courtland, Alabama, Willodean (Thomas) Steward and
Wordine (Floyd) Warren, both of Leighton, Alabama; two great-aunts, Callie Sue Wilson of
Town Creek, Alabama, and Sadie Mae Lynch of Leighton, Alabama; devoted nieces, Gladys
Madden and Justice Madden; devoted nephews, Montoya (Jennifer) Madden, Rico Madden,
Jeremy Green, Casey Holden, Lamar and Christopher (Nichelle) Coffey; six stepchildren;
and a host of step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews, cousins
and friends.
