Ms. Shirley Ann Barnet was born on May 29th, 1957, to the late Rubye Mae Barnett. On April 23rd, 2024, the lord called her home at North Alabama Medical Center around 11:30 AM.
She confessed her belief in our Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. T.J. Fuqua. Shirley attended West End School and Waterloo High School. She became a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma. For 25 years, she was employed as a CNA.
She became disabled and returned home to her loving family. Shirley was an excellent cook, always eager to serve the Springhill Kitchen Committee with love. She had a green thumb, loved her flowers, she loved music, gospel, and blues, she loved reading romance novels, she didn’t know how to say “no”. Her door was always open to family and strangers, she loved parties/social gatherings. She also loved to travel.
Shirley was a Heart Patient, which began in the Early 90 ‘s; all the uncountable trips to hospitals, doctors, specialist, surgeries, she was always remained positive and confident. When it got dark, she would say “God got me!” She was a soldier, a giver, and she was not hard to please.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Mae Barnett; and her nieces, Stacy Neloms.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memories:
Three sisters, Mrs. Carolyn (Curtis) Beckwith, Mrs. Trenia Casey, and Mrs. Carrine (Andy) Thompson; three brothers. Mr. Gary Barnett, Mr. Dennis (Minnie) Barnett, Mr. Demarcus (Johnnie) Barnett; a special nephew, Devonta Barnett; two special nieces, Star Davis and Wednesdae Barnett; dearest cousins, Gale Carson Anderson, and Dale Kinde; special friends, Mr. Hollis Berry, and Ameiyah Gaines; and a host of other relatives and friends.
