Shantelle Tenay Turner was born on December 26, 1977. Shantelle Tenay Turner became a member of Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church at an early age. She was in the youth choir and young adult choir, and she helped with children’s church. She loved God, her son, family, and everybody’s children, and they loved her. She was a dedicated and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, godmother, and friend, and she loved everyone to the fullest. She was preceded in death by: her grandmothers, Jessie L. Newsome and Barbara Ann Nance, great-grandmother, Katie Key Adams, aunt, Aurtherine Armstead, and uncles, Jesse Lee Turner and Don “Tick” Nance. Shantelle Tenay Turner transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Monday, January 3, 2022. She was the strongest fighter I have ever known. She fought battle after battle, and with God’s strength and her faith she won the most important battle, to not be sick anymore, to be well and in Gods arms, as a Beautiful Angel. We love you so much, always and forever. Tenay, as most people called her, leaves to cherish the awesome memories of her life: her mother, Katie Turner Nance; father, Milton Wayne Nance I; her son, Zane Grey Gilbert II; her two sisters, Sierra LaShay Nance and Keionna Raeshun Summerhill; her three brothers, Milton Wayne (Brandy) Nance II, Courtney Summerhill, and Chadwick Summerhill; godson, Jaxx Christopher Woods; a host of aunts and uncles; great-aunt, Mary Mollie Dixon; great-uncle, Edward Dixon, Jr.; nieces, Ayshia Nichole Nance and Macy Brooke Nance; nephew, Matias O’Brian Nance; a dear and devoted friend, Betty Gill; godmother, Shelia Johnson; and other cousins, relatives, and special friends. I can’t name them all, but you know who you are!
