Sarah Elizabeth (French) Butler

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth French Butler was born June 30, 1950, in Limestone County, Alabama to Homer and Orie French. She was the youngest child out of five children. She departed this life to enter into eternal rest on March 12, 2024, at her residence. Though with tears in our eyes and an ache in our hearts, we rejoice in knowing that she is in no more pain. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4.

Mrs. Butler was raised on Seven Mile Post Road in Athens, Alabama. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1968. Upon graduation from high school, she entered the work force. She’s worked at Rogersville Manufacturing, Salem Sports, Fruit of Loom, Tee Jays, Volunteers of America, and also did private duty. She was known for being a hard worker and having a sweet and kind demeanor.

Sarah confessed hope in Christ and was baptized at Mt. Olive CP Church in Rogersville, AL under the leadership of the Late Rev. Kenneth Cain. She was a faithful and active member.

Sarah was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Lionel Hampton Butler on May 23, 1975. To this union 2 daughters were born Pamela Butler and Baby Lionetta Butler who died at childbirth.

In addition to her baby girl Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Orie French, two sisters Lillie Turner (Bee) and Mary Fuqua, two brothers, Homer French Jr. and Sammy French.

Mrs. Butler’s memories will be cherished by her loving and devoted family, husband, Lionel Butler, daughter, Pamela Butler, grandson, Savion Turner; Sister, Edith Petty; Sister in-law, Odell French; Brothers in-law, Wayne Fuqua, MacArthur Butler, and Booker T Butler; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
