God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around him and whispered, "Come with Me. " With tear-filled eyes, we watched him suffer and fade away. Although we loved him deeply, we could not make him stay.
Roy Lee Sims was born July 7, 1953. He was born to the late Ben and Arma Jean Sims. He served in the Marine Corps from 1971-1973. He was united to Gloria Roberson. He worked at Champion Papermill. He departed his life on December 3, 2021 at Keller Landing Nursing Home, Tuscumbia, Alabama.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his four sons: Marcus Carroll, Mobile, Alabama, Kelvin Thirkill, Atlanta, Georgia, Frederick Tucker, Nashville, Tennessee, LaVar Woods, Huntsville, Alabama, Nineteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one aunt, Mary Jean Johnson, Sheffield, Alabama, one uncle, James (Deloris) Johnson, Sheffield, Alabama, four cousins: Darryl (Ava) Johnson, Clarksville, Tennessee, Bridgette Johnson and Taria Johnson, both of Madison, Alabama, and Vernetta Johnson, Tuscumbia, Alabama, and a host of other relatives and friends.
