Robert Fuqua Obituary
Mr. Robert Henry Fuqua was born in Colbert County, Alabama on July 12, 1941, to the late Leo Fuqua and the late Rosa Lee Fuqua Thompson. He departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2021, after his battle with cancer.
Robert H. Fuqua was a graduate from Leighton Training School in Leighton, Alabama. Robert H. Fuqua worked at Reynolds/Wise Alloy for 35+ years where he retired. After retirement, Robert H. Fuqua took on the work of raising cows, a burial ground custodian, and different activities in the community. He was also a member of the Laymen Ministries.
Robert H. Fuqua join Cave Spring Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where he remained a faithful member until the failing of his health. Robert H. Fuqua was a part of the trustee committee and a superintendent of Sunday School at Cave Spring M. B. Church.
Robert H. Fuqua is proceeded in death by one son David Fuqua and one sister Gloria Bell Fuqua.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a beloved wife, Martha Southward Fuqua of Leighton, Alabama, three sons: Robert Wayne Fuqua of Sheffield, Alabama,
Steven Bernard Fuqua of Florence, Alabama and Marquese Tehman Fuqua of Leighton, Alabama, five daughters: Doris Elaine Johnson of Birmingham, Alabama, Robin Shelaine Fuqua of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Bonnie Jean Fuqua of Sheffield, Alabama, Pippa (Jeffrey) Summerhill of Harvest, Alabama and Brenda Gail King of Sheffield, Alabama, one special granddaughter, Aerial (Tarus) Lewis of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, three brothers: Leo Fuqua of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Bennie (Gladys) Mastin of Leighton, Alabama and Sammy Trotter of Pasco, Washington, five sisters: Mary Bean of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Fannie (Andy) Sledge, Flora Fuqua both of Leighton, Alabama, Sarah Tollfree of Stockton, California and Ida King of Leighton, Alabama, sister-in-law, Mary (Floyd) Brock of Tishomingo, Mississippi and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
