Robert Davis Jr., also known as “Poo Poo,” age 64, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama. He was born on December 13, 1959, in Muscle Shoals, AL, to the proud parents of Sue Nell (Jackson) Davis and Robert Lee Davis Sr.
He met and married the love of his life Carlis Hamilton on April 18, 1987, and moved to Russellville, AL, and was a resident there for over 15 yrs before moving back to Muscle Shoals, AL.
Robert was a loyal employee of Helen Keller Hospital for twenty-five years. He retired in October of 2023 so he could spend time with his wife, grandchildren, and family. Robert loved fishing you could often find him on the creek bank with a fishing reel in his hand. Family and friends often joked and called him Bill Dance. He also loved taking pictures of family and friends even if they were often caught off guard by them. He always had the ability to make anyone laugh and smile. Robert will truly be missed by family, friends, and loved ones.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, Sue Nell and Robert Lee Davis Sr., a sister, Brenda Johnson, and a brother, David Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Carlis Davis: a step-son James Hamilton, two grandchildren: Jasmin and Jayden Hamilton all of Russellville, AL; four brothers: Jimmy Davis (Mary) of Florence, AL, Tommy Davis (Judy) of Muscle Shoals, AL, Christopher Davis (Autumn) of Knoxville, TN, Rev. Charles (Wreona) Bailey, Florence, AL; four sisters: Linda Owens of Muscle Shoals, AL, Jacqueline Turner of Sheffield, AL, Julia Davis of Akron, OH, and Teresa Summerhill (Louis) of Oakland, California; two brothers-in-law: Ray Nelson and William Nelson both of Russellville, AL; four sisters-in-law: Connie Sears, Kathy Hamilton, Dorothy (Robert) Summerhill, all of Russellville, AL, Priscilla (Terry) Saffold of Pottsville, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews that loved him dearly.
