Richard Junior Ricks “Bird” was born in Sheffield, AL on July 24, 1961, to Robert and Flora Lee Ricks. Richard departed this life on January 15, 2024, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL.

He confessed Christ at an early age and joined St. James M.B. Church Leighton, AL under the leadership of the late Rev Frank Roach Sr.

Ricks (Rebbeca), Earnest Lee Ricks (Brenda), Frankie Lee Ricks, Willie Henry Ricks, and George Leon Ricks; Aunts: Mildred Christine Garner, Dorothy Ann Ricks (Willie James), and Ella Mae King of Detroit Michigan; Great Aunts: Thelma Cheatom, Evelyn Neloms; Special Friends: Cassandra Baker, Brook Collins, Karen Russell and a host of other relatives and friends.
