REVEREND PATRICIA ANN MARTIN, known to most as “Cookie,” peacefully transitioned on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in her hometown of Florence, Alabama, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Earnest and Sadie Mae Davis, born on January 2, 1952, in Colbert County, Alabama.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful and unforgettable memories with her husband of 49 years, Mr. Lonnie E. Martin; daughters, Sherry Bates of Florence, AL, and Lonyetta Bell(Demetrica) of Clarksville, TN; stepson, Collis Campbell(Regina) of Florence, AL; stepdaughters, Euwanda Anderson(Shawn) of Jacksonwille, AR, and Alice Martin and Meia Ricks(Leonard) both of Florence, AL; her loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and those she took in as her own as a second mom, all of whom she dearly loved.
Mrs. Martin was born the second-last of ten children: James “Jack” Freeman (deceased), Gracie Jackson of Bay City, MI, Tracy Davis “Nut” (deceased), Robert Davis “Dirty Red” (deceased), Earnest Davis “Whistle” (deceased), Daisy Knox “Bae-Bae” (deceased), Mattie Eastland (deceased), John Davis “Neal” of Florence, AL, and Ethel Sanders of Saginaw, MI.
Reverend Patrica Martin was a spiritual woman who devoted her life to the Lord, her family, her church family, and others among the community. She was ordained in the year 2000 through the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America. She was a faithful assistant pastor to Pastor Marcus Fuqua at New Life Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America in Town Creek, Alabama. Reverend Martin preached her first sermon on February 21, 1993, at Hopewell CPCA in Leighton, Alabama.
