Rebecca Pearl Mullins Adams was born July 1, 1926, to the late Leslie (Buster) and Aggie Pearl Fields Mullins in Leighton, Alabama. She was called home to her eternal rest at the age of ninety-six on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Florence, Alabama. Rebecca confessed her belief in Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. New Home M.B. Church. She remained a member, until she relocated with her husband and sons to Chattanooga, Tennessee. She joined the Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church and later moved her membership to First Baptist Church of Washington Hills, under the leadership of the late Pastor Balus Smith, Sr., and remained a faithful and devoted member until moving back to Alabama. After returning home, she reunited with Mt. New Home M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Pastor A. J. Mayes, where she remained until her health started declining. Rebecca worked various jobs while living in Chattanooga, until finding her ideal job with the Boyd family for numerous years. She loved the Boyd family and they have been in contact with her continuously, since she moved back to Alabama. That speaks volumes. In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Henrey Adams; sons, John H. Abernathy and Napolean Adams; grandson, Anthony Abernathy; and stepsons, Robert Lee Adams and Don Edward Adams. Rebecca leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted grandson, Marlon B. (Geraldine) Abernathy of Killen, Alabama; daughter-in-law/caregiver, Sigglee E. Abernathy of Leighton, Alabama; stepdaughter-in-law, Frances Adams of Chattanooga, Tennessee; great-granddaughters, Kandice Abernathy of Montgomery, Alabama, Kenyetta Abernathy of Florence, Alabama, and Hallie, Jessica, and Mia Abernathy, all of Killen, Alabama; great-grandson, Tyler Abernathy of Huntsville, Alabama; stepgrandson, Darryl Owens; step granddaughters, Teresa Adams, Rhonda (Thomas) Scott, and Tia (Terry) Batts; step-grandsons, Robert Lee Adams, Jr., Gregory (Marketia) Adams, and Brent Adams; four greatgreat-grandchildren; and a host of step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the Boyd Family.
