Percy Eggleston Obituary

Mr. Percy L. Eggleston was born December 18, 1945, to the late George Eggleston, Sr.  and Sadie L. Eggleston in Colbert County Alabama.  Percy departed this life on October 3rd, in Huntsville, Alabama.

As a young man Percy was a member of Mt. Pleasant M. B. Church and later became a member of Bethel Colbert M.B. Church in Leighton, Alabama, where he was a faithful member until his death.  

Percy was known for his unwavering work ethic and love for his family and community. He lived by the belief that “a job worth doing is a job worth doing well,” a principal reflected in the care he took detailing his automobiles, maintaining his property, and perfecting every home improvement project. Percy was a dedicated employee of Reynolds Metal Company and officially retired from Wise Alloy in 2006.

Percy was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Joyce Ann Bates Eggleston, brothers, Leroy Eggleston, Leon Eggleston, Carl Eggleston, George Eggleston, Jr. and Willie T. Eggleston.  

He leaves to cherish his memories:

daughters, LaWanda (William) Owens of Conyers, GA, Tammie (Robert) Wilson of Muscle Shoals, AL, Mirinda Terry of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Terqunia Eggleston of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandchildren, Morgan Owens of Conyers, GA, Sydney Owens of McDonough, GA,  Korey Owens of Conyers, GA, Brittany Terry Madden of Madison, AL, KeaAla Eggleston and Kaycen Eggleston of Muscle Shoals, AL and one great grandchild Nya Nelson (Sydney) of McDonough, GA; sisters, Eloise Jamar of Montgomery, AL,  Odessa Eggleston of Muscle Shoals, AL, Carrie (Emmitt) King of Muscle Shoals, AL, Felicia Warren of Atlanta, GA and two brothers, Johnny Eggleston of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Ted Eggleston of Lawrenceville, GA; Sister-in-laws, Ida (Edward) Nance of Sheffield, AL, Gladys (McCoy) Jackson of Leighton, AL, Edna Hamilton of Muscle Shoals, AL, Susie Bates of Lansing , MI, Thelma (Mike) Swift of Traverse City, MI, Pauline (Roosevelt) Beasley of Lansing, MI, Hazel Horton of Leighton, AL, Carolyn Bates of Leighton, AL and one brother-in-law, James W. Bates of Berlin, Germany and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
