Oakley Wendell Simpson was born December 23, 1972 in Florence, Alabama to the late Verneta Simpson and the late William Hawkins Sr.
He made his transitioned to his eternal home on August 20, 2021. Wendell was preceded in death by his grandmothers Sarah Simpson and Mattie Hawkins, grandfathers John Simpson and Claude E. Hawkins and uncle Claude Hawkins.
Wendell confessed Christ at an early age and attended Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church.
Wendell was a 1992 graduate of Bradshaw High School. He later attended barbering school at Calhoun Community College and became a barber with a local barber and later opening up his own shop "Mr. WENDELL BARBER SHOP" at West Irvine Market.
Wendell loved his family and friends, he was an entrepreneur and loved taking on new projects. He also loved to dress and never meet a stranger.
Wendell leave his cherish memories to one daughter Erinn Simpson, one beloved granddaughter Jordynn Jones, second mother Linda Harris (Paul), step-mother Shirley Hawkins one sister Tabitha Clemons (Darren), brothers Williams Hawkins Jr. (Shalena), Jonathan Grimes, Darren Grimes, aunt Debrorah McDaniel (Billy), Brandy Simpson, uncles Hilton Simpson (Lawanda) Clifford Simpson, Melvin Mason, one god brother Dalton Swinney, and a host of cousins and special friends.
