Mattie Denise Darby

Mattie Denise Darby was born May 4, 1962, to the late Robert Lee and Nancy Darby in Tuscumbia, AL. She departed this life on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of High Street Church of Christ, Tuscumbia, AL and often visited Sterling Blvd. Church of Christ, Sheffield, AL.

She was a 1981 graduate of Deshler High School and attended cosmetology school in Muscle Shoals, AL.

Mattie was preceded in death by twin sons, Roderick Dewayne and Denorris Delane, father, Robert Lee Darby, brother, David Dewayne Darby and nephew, Rico O. Winston.

She leaves to cherish her memories:

her devoted daughter, Latia Darby; granddaughters, TaKari "TK" King and Taryn "Sissy" King; mother, Nancy Darby; two sisters, Barbara (Ricardo) Winston and Debbrah Darby, both of Tuscumbia, AL; brothers, Daniel (Donna) Darby of Belleville, Ill., Robert "Bobby" Darby of Muscle Shoals, AL, Robert "Denorris" (Sandra) Darby of Chattanooga, TN., James "Darrell" Darby of St. Louis, MO., William "Bill" Darby of Tuscumbia, AL., and Reginald (Debra) Darby of Elgin, S. C.; three aunts, Hattie Parks, Lois Darby and Elizabeth Mullins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and two special friends, Melinda Jackson and Anna Jones.
