Lula Mae Felton Williams completed her journey early Friday morning at Helen Keller Memorial Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama. She was the youngest of ten children born to the union of Jimmy and Ida Deloney Felton. Lula grew up in the Muscle Shoals area, and attended Leighton Training High School. She worked as a domestic housekeeper for many years and later completed her education and training as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Lula is survived by six of nine children Mary Elizabeth Harris “Liz”, Atlanta, Georgia, Teresa Stitt, Saginaw, Michigan, Johnson Williams, Jr. “Sonny”, Tuscumbia, Cassandra Williams “San”, Deatsville, Alabama, Gilda Marie Williams “Rhee”, Tuscumbia, and Donald Lee Bilbrue, Tuscumbia; and one Son-in-Law Roy M. Powers, Leighton, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by parents and nine siblings: Edward “Sam”, Elzie, Jimmy Jr. “Buddy”, Hayward, Robert Lee, Susie Lee, Ida Pearl, Willie James, George Washington Felton, and Rosie Everlina Hobbs; and three children Pearline Powers, Sandra Jean Williams, and Ronald Lee Bilbrue.
Lula was a member of Mt. Olievia Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher for many years. She was loved by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
We will miss her dearly, but know that she is at peace with the Lord
