Lucille Virginia Hampton

Mrs. Lucille Whiteside Hampton was born on April 22, 1936. She was the youngest and the last living Child of the Late Reverend Rollie Whiteside and Leida Kellock Whiteside of Leighton, AL. She departed her journey home on August 3, 2023. Lucille accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Leighton, AL. Years later, she joined the Jehovah Witness Congregation in Sheffield, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Rollie Whiteside, and Leida Kellock Whiteside; her husband, Paden Hampton, Sr.; her son, Roger Whiteside; four brothers, Willie Whiteside, Dave Whiteside, Leroy Whiteside, and James Whiteside; three sisters, Corene Whiteside, Emma Goodloe, and Alene Jones; great grandson, DeShaun McDonald.

Lucille was employed at Colbert County Hospital, currently known as Helen Keller Memorial. She received several awards for her outstanding service. She also worked at the Southland as a cook/server. Lucille fostered several kids as a Foster Parent. Lucille loved so many people and they loved her in return. He was known as a person who would give the shirt off her back to help those in need. She had a king gentle soul and was described as prayerful, honest, and devoted to her faith. Lucille would always say to her family, friends, and those around her to "Spread the Love" because we should all continue to love one another.

She was a devoted wife and beloved mother who always put God first in her life.
