Latoria Tynik Carroll

Latoria “Tynik” Carroll was born on December 29, 1988, in Sheffield, Alabama, to Willie Ricks and Pamela Carroll. She peacefully departed this life on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the University of Birmingham Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Affectionately known as “Tynik,” she attended Sheffield City Schools, where she was the life of the party and adored by many. She was a warm, loving, and caring soul who never complained. A devoted mother, she cherished her family—especially her three children—above all else. She will forever be remembered for her bold, humorous personality that brought joy to everyone who knew her.

During her leisure time, Tynik loved cooking and spending time with her family. She shared an unbreakable bond with her mother and sisters—a love unlike any other. She could often be found on the phone with them for hours, laughing, joking, and simply enjoying life together.

She is preceded in death by her parental grandfather, Mr. Willie Garner, and parental uncle, Mr. Donnie Garner, both of Leighton, Alabama.  

She leaves to cherish her life, her loving and caring mother: Pamela Carroll, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; father: Willie Ricks, Leighton, Alabama; one bonus father: Edward Fuqua, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; two sons: DeMarion Vaughn and K’Naan Carroll, both of Florence, Alabama; one daughter: Da’Briah Vaughn, Florence, Alabama; grandparents: Mildred “Christine” Garner, Leighton, Alabama; Brenda Carroll, Sheffield, Alabama, Robert Crittenden, Waukegan, Illinois; one bonus grandmother: Thelma Fuqua, Sheffield, Alabama; five dedicated sisters: LaQuandra Ricks, Florence, Alabama, Montoya Fuqua, Sheffield, Alabama, Alyssa Fuqua, Madison, Alabama, and Brandi Fuqua, Florence, Alabama; Shacoyah Spangler, Florence, Alabama; three aunts: Debbie Ricks, Tuscumbia, Alabama, Michelle Garner, Leighton, Alabama; Cassandra Southern, Tuscumbia, Alabama; five uncles: Marcus Ricks, Leighton, Alabama, Rubin Garner, Leighton, Alabama, Courtney Carroll, Sheffield, Alabama, DeAndre Carroll, Madison, Alabama; four nephews: Jayden Washington, Sheffield, Alabama, Kingstyn Richardson, Florence Alabama, Tru Smith, Madison, Alabama, Karris Jones, Florence, Alabama; five nieces: Samariah Ford, JaKylie Richardson, Shamaurya Davidson, Sha’Carleigh Spangler, Shakarriah Jones, all of Florence, Alabama; two dedicated friends: Isaac Vaughn, Sheffield, Alabama and Christopher Holland, Tuscumbia, Alabama; a host of great uncles, great aunts, cousins, relatives, and friends.
