Johnny Williams Obituary

Mr. Johnny Mac Williams was born on December 12, 1959, in Colbert County, AL, to the late Joe and Nannie Ruth Williams. He departed this life, peacefully, on February 2, 2025, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, AL.

Johnny Mac was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, in Muscle Shoals, AL. He served on the deacon board and was a faithful and devoted Adult Sunday School Teacher until his sickness became severe. He worked at Nafco (Tarkett) for over 20 years. He also worked at Flexco in Tuscumbia and Walmart in Muscle Shoals, AL. While working at these facilities, he never met a stranger and always had an outgoing spirit.

Johnny loved and played baseball, softball, basketball, football and golf. He was on a traveling softball team and received numerous of awards and trophies. His love for sports was not only as a player and spectator but also led to being a coach. To many, he was known as “Coach Johnny Mac.” He served as a youth league football coach for years, where he undoubtedly touched and impacted hundreds of young lives. He was a source of encouragement and inspiration to many. When we think of him, we will always remember the infectious smile on his face that could light up any room he entered.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe Williams and Nannie Ruth Williams; his sisters: Fronde Marie King, Nannie Mae Williams, and Annie Jo Williams; brothers: Jimmy Williams, and Joe L. Williams.

Johnny Mac leaves to cherish his memories:

his loving and devoted wife, Aloysius Williams of Muscle Shoals, AL; three loving children, Tisha Williams of Florence, AL, Michelle (Alan) Jaynes of Athens, AL, and Terrell Williams of Athens, AL; a stepdaughter, Mariko Davidson; three Granddaughters, Tiahna and Amelia Jaynes, Armoni Davis; two loving sisters, Nellie Eggleston of Florence, AL, and Nora Williams of Muscle Shoals, AL; one devoted brother, Freddie (Rosita) Williams of Huntsville, AL; sisters in-law, Sharon Williams of Florence, AL, Djunia Hankins of Leighton, AL, and  Tanya (Rayfield) Young of Muscle Shoals, AL; a special sister-in-law,  Pearl Williams of Muscle Shoals, AL; brother in-law, Andrew King of Tuscumbia, AL; Sonja Underwood of Sheffield and Orlandes Underwood of Chattanooga, TN; a niece, Melissa D. Williams of Muscle Shoals, AL; a special nephew, Michael Williams of Florence, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
