Mr. Johnny H. Bates was born in Colbert County, Alabama in March 26, 1958 to the late Connie Mae Horrison. He went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2020 after an extended illness.
Johnny Bates accepted Christ at an early age and joined Cave Spring Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Bates was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean Bates, his mother, Connie Mae Horrison, his brother, Andrew Bates, and his sister, Glenda Thompson.
Mr. Bates is survived by his five brothers, Doug (Joan) Fuqua, Florence, Alabama, Thomas (Geraldine) Fuqua, Leighton, Alabama, William (Patricia) Bates, Muscle Shoals, AL, Michael (Sandra) Bates, Leighton, Alabama and Frank (Lateka) Townsend, Colbert Heights, Alabama, and a host of nieces and nephews, four step-children, Sharon L. Jackson, Reader L. Jackson, Demarious Jackson, Jerome Jackson, five step children, Je’Shara L. Jackson, Ashanda L. Jackson, Rodriquis L. Jackson, Trey Weakley and Jerry Jackson, Jr., along with a host of family and friends.
Mr. Bates will lie in the sanctuary one hour prior to the funeral service. Rev. F. Leotha Ingram, III, Pastor
