Mr. James C. Greene, Sr., was born on July 7, 1944, to the late Cleophus and Ida Elizabeth Greene. He departed his earthly life on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025.
He graduated from Burrell Slater High School in 1963. After graduation, he studied Auto Mechanics at Huntsville State Vocational School. After school, he joined the US Army and served for 13 months in Korea. He also won a sharp shooters award while in basic trading. He was employed at Ford Motor Company then later was employed at General Motors until he retired. James was a lifelong member of the Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Florence, AL. He also served there as a Deacon and Choir Member, until he became ill.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Greene; grandson, Jaheim Greene; nephews, Timothy Hudson and Bryant Petty, Jr.; brother-in-law, Harold Wilson, Bryant Petty, Sr., and Thomas Rhodes; uncle, Jury Greene; aunts, Madeline Haynes and Dera Conwell; mother-in-law, Julia Petty; son-in-law, Charles Jackson.
James leaves to cherish his memories:
a daughter, Terrasa Jackson, sons, Carl (Dawn) Greene and James Greene, Jr.; sister, Mary Hudson; grandchildren, Jatasia Greene, Jayvia Greene, Canedra Greene, Jacquess Greene, James Greene, J’Daryus Nance, Martavias Mosley, Jaylen Greene, Jarre Mastin, Jr., Jamila Greene, and Jalaysia Greene; great grandchildren, Jaheim Greene, Jr., Tylee Greene, Xya Greene, De’Amir Clark, Jayven Nance, and Jaydence Nance; nieces, Kenyetta Hudson and Chandra Hudson; sisters-in-law, Linda (John Paul) Johnson, Peggy Rhodes, Marsha Petty, Bridgette (Dewayne) Phillips, Cortney Pride, and Karen Petty; and brothers-in-law, Anthony Petty and Cleophus Madden; and a host of other relatives and friends.
