Ms. Ida Pearl Nelson Hogan began life's journey on December 26, 1935, to the late Mr. Johnny Nelson and the late Mrs. Minnie (Lucille) Cage Nelson in Russellville, AL.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant and member of the church's she attended, until her health declined.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother and well-respected member of her community, as well as a positive mother figure to many over the years. Her selfless service and unwavering spirit of kindness will be missed, but never forgotten.
On Sunday December 11, 2022, she answered the Master's call. God in his special way, at his perfect time, chose this sweet soul to happily and painlessly serve him.
Memories of Ida Hogan will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loving children: Sidney Hogan, Jr., and Sybil (Lorenzo) Henderson. Grandchildren: LaShanna Hollingsworth, Steven (Christina) Cousin, Jr., Lee Andrew (Renee) Cousin, Jonathan Cousin, and Michael Henderson. Great Grandchildren: Jaydon Thomas, Michaela Cousin, McKenzie Cousin, Steven Cousin, III, Lee Andrew Cousin, Jr., Samuel Cousin, and Luca Cousin. Siblings: Betty Vaughn, William Luke Nelson, Joyce Nelson, and Clarence Nelson. Host of nieces and nephews. Special friend: Dale Vinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Johnny and Minnie (Lucille) Nelson, son; David Lloyd Hogan; brothers, John Nelson and William Hugh Nelson.
