Henrietta (Carroll) Hogan

Henrietta Carroll Hogan was born November 15, 1943, to the late Jessie and Junetta Carroll.  She departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Helen Keller Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. 

She confessed to Christ as a young adult, and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, Sheffield, Alabama.  However, she frequently attended Everdale Missionary Baptist Church located in Sheffield, Alabama. 

She was a kind, loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured her family, and loved each of them dearly.  She will always be remembered for her caring heart, contagious humor, and little touch of sass, which we all loved and will cherish and miss deeply.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Ira Jerome Hogan II, her parents, Jessie and Junetta Carroll, her daughter, Patricia Ann Hogan, and her son, Michael Tyrone Hogan, all of Sheffield, Alabama and three of her siblings, Pearline Ford, James Jr. Carroll, and Michael Carroll, all of Sheffield, Alabama.    

She leaves to celebrate her life, her two loving and devoted sons: Ivan (Rosie) Hogan of Sheffield, Alabama, and Matthew (Christa) Hogan of Tuscumbia, Alabama; five dedicated sisters: Brenda Carroll, Gloria (Jimmy) Smith, Jacqueline Carroll, Vera Yates, all of Sheffield, Alabama, and Jessie (late William) Neloms of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; four brothers: Tommy Carroll, Arthur (Shirley) Carroll both of Sheffield, Alabama, Larry (Donna) Carroll of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Earnest Carroll of Lima, Ohio; eleven devoted grandchildren: Shamaine Abernathy, Daphnae Hogan, Stephanie Hogan, Ashley Patterson, Tierra Hogan, Sakerra Hogan, Ja’Mykal Hogan, all of Sheffield, Alabama; Chris Armstead, Erica Armstead, Demarcus Hogan, Jamarcus Hogan, all of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; fifteen great grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
