Gregory Jerome "Screw" Johnson

Gregory “Screw” Johnson was called to be with the Lord on January 30, 2025, at Helen Keller Memorial Hospital.

Gregory was born on October 31, 1959, to the late Martha Louise Johnson and Joe Johnson, Jr.

Gregory was baptized at an early age. He later joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Sheffield. He attended Deshler High School in Tuscumbia, Alabama. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Joe Johnson, Jr.; his sisters, Audrey Rudolph and Doris Johnson; his brothers, Robert (Gene) Johnson and James (Bear) Johnson.

Gregory memories are cherished by his two sisters; JoAnn Woods and Argus Young of Florence, Alabama; one brother; Ray Johnson (Beverly) of Sheffield, Alabama; a devoted companion; Avis Gadd, Sheffield, Alabama; her children; son, Roderick Gadd (Myra), Muscle Shoals, Alabama; daughter,Sabrina Gadd; Sheffield, Alabama; grandchildren; Chandler Bolton (Jamie), De’Mia Newsome (Tyrik) and Tamaya Newsome, Sheffield, Alabama; Pawpaw Babies: Caiden, De’Earah, Channing “CJ”, and DeMazii (all of 
whom were his pride and joy); two brothers in law, Wayne Gadd and Darryle Gadd, Sheffield, AL; two sisters in law; Charlotte Sterling (Q), San Diego, CA; Monique Drew (Larry), North Prince George, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
