Geneva Asher Obituary

Geneva Asher, 78, of St. Lous, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Geneva was born on December 28, 1947, in Courtland, Alabama, to the late Carrie B. Lynch and David White.

She grew up in Sheffield, Alabama, where she accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Sheffield. In St. Louis, she was a proud member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Kinloch, MO. She rededicated her life recently at the City of Life Christian Church in Overland, MO and was baptized.

She graduated from Sterling High School in Sheffield, Alabama. After high school, she went to New York and eventually made her way back to Sheffield, Alabama. Upon her return to Sheffield, Alabama, she married Eli Asher on May 19. 1969. The couple moved to St. Louis, MO start their life's Journey together. God blessed their marriage to last nearly a half century. 

Geneva was an exemplary mother and human being. She embodied the best qualities: unconditional love and strength. Later in life, when she begin to suffer from dementia, Geneva never forgot her family and friends.

She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother to three children, and a beloved grandmother. Geneva is survived by her children, Myron (Kimberly) Asher, Marcus (Erica) Asher, and Valerie Mason; grandchildren, Christian Mason and Monyelle Asher. She leaves to mourn, a sister, Ms. Janie Cole; two nephews, Robert Gary Lynch Jr, Michael Bonds; aunts, Mattie Dixon, Dorothy White, Carolyn Reedus, Dorothy Robinson, and Lela Reed; uncles, Lewis White, Carl Reed, JC Robinson, and Albert Robinson; devoted cousin, Cora Almon and a host of other beloved family members and cherished friends.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Eli Asher, mother, Carrie B. Lynch and father, David White, sisters and brothers: Freida Lynch, Laura P. Lynch, George Lynch, and Robert Gary Lynch; niece and nephew: Cassandra Lynch and Jarrod Lynch.

Geneva's memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to live in all that she touched.
