Fannie (Carter) Freeman was born June 16, 1949, in Colbert County to the late Johnie Carter, Sr. and Bessie M. King Carter. Fannie departed this life on June 7, 2024. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church, Leighton, Alabama.
Fannie was educated in the Colbert County School system. She graduated Valedictorian from Leighton Training School in 1967. She continued her education at Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in chemistry and sociology. She worked at Reynolds/Wise Alloys as a laboratory analyst.
Fannie was preceded in death by her parents: Johnie Carter, Sr. and Bessie M. King Carter and three brothers: Johnie Carter Jr., Isaiah Carter Sr. and Curtis L. Carter; and sister: Zennie B. Dale.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
a devoted husband, Wille Freeman and daughter, Crystal Freeman; one brother, George (Saundra) Carter; one sister, Pearline (Ron) Talley; two sisters-in-law, Amor Carter and Juanita (Johnson) Pennywell; one brother-in-law, Thomas (Mary) Freeman; nephews, nieces, and a host of family and friends.
