Eveline May Lynn Wade was born on March 14, 1936, in Sheffield, Alabama to the late Susie Jackson Deloney and Angelo Deloney. She was the sixth of seven children. Eveline departed this life on Sunday, June 19, 2022.
She moved to Richmond at an early age and began working at the Leland Hotel, Holiday Inn, and the State Hospital in which she retired from. She loved her family and loved taking care of her nieces and nephews since she didn’t have any children of her own. She would always give us godly advice, help with tuition and book fees or buy clothes. She was strong willed and spoke what was on her mind.
She confessed her dedication to Christ at an early age and was a devoted member. In Alabama she was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Olive Baptist Church. After moving to Richmond, she became a faithful member at Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James E. Flakes, Rev. Earnest Randle, and Dr. Derek White her present pastor. She sung in the choir, she was a member of Prayer Band, Usher Board, and the Missionary Society and she love Medical Monday’s. She also helped with the after-school program at Townsend and also donated money for their snacks and meals. She loved Big Time Wrestling and Jimmy Swaggart.
Eveline married A.D. Wade who proceeded her in death. Eveline leaves to cherish her memory 21 devoted nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. 2 of which was her devoted care givers, Jimmie Deloney Jr. and Kate Deloney, and a host of other great and great great and great great great nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by 2 brothers, Jimmie D. Deloney Sr. (Fannie Mae), and Angelo Cecil Deloney (Christine, Judy), 4 sisters, Cleo Robinson (Mark), Willie Lou Byrd (James), Rebecca Deloney, and Dorothy Deloney. 2 nieces, Annette Jolly, Mary Robinson and 4 nephews Albert Goodman, Joe Louis Goodman, Jimmie Lee Robinson, and Gilbert Goodman. She leaves 9 special friends Odessa Smith, Annie Ruth Sanders, Josephine Brown, Beatrice Mason, Debra Craig, Martha Deloney, Martha Ann Flakes, Elizabeth Davis, and Marlene Ferguson A devoted god-niece Jackie Webster and a niece-in-law Yolonda Jackson.
