Eric entered his physical journey on March 23, 1981, to the parentage of Homer Johnson, and the late Janice Johnson at ECM Hospital in Florence, Alabama. Eric confessed at an early age and joined the Barton ME Baptist Church, Barton, Al.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Janice Ann Johnson, his brother, Roderick Jamel Johnson, Sr., sister, Tamika Raquel Davidson Giathi, and, uncle, Robert
"Bobby" Mansell Davidson.
Eric departed his physical home and returned to God in his heavenly home on Friday, July 21, 2023, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Eric graduated in 1999 from Deshler High School
"Go Tigers" and often reminisced about winning the 1998 State Football Championship. His love and knowledge of all sports, especially football was often discussed with many of his friends and family. Eric went on to meet and fall deeply in love with his soulmate, Tina Donley and they were together for twenty-two years. The two married on July 5, 2006, and resided in Wetumpka, Al to raise their two children. At the time of his death, Eric was employed by Hyundai Manufacturing and devoted 18 years of service.
Eric was an extraordinary husband, father, son, sibling, friend, and co-worker and was respected by many. Eric never meet a stranger and his love for life made many gravitate to him making him the "life of the party"
Eric is best described by many as being genuine, smart, funny, and always making sure you were okay and didn't need anything.

Eric leaves behind to carry on his legacy, his loving, devoted, and supportive wife, Tina Donley Johnson; two caring children, Tamara Donley and Jaleel Johnson; father, Mr. Homer Johnson; grandmother; Ms. Mary Davidson; devoted aunt, Mrs. Marsha (Kyler) Smith; uncles, Mr. Manuel (Toni) Davidson, Mr. Stanley Davidson, Mr. Michael Davidson, and Mr. Lyndon (Teresa) Davidson; two nephews, Mr. Desmond (Rachel) Giathi; Mr. Rod Johnson Jr.; and niece, Ms. Kyran Johnson. Special recognition to devoted friends, Brandon Green, Brad Jarmon, Odell Graves, Tas Foster, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
