Mr. Edgar Earl “Roland” Ricks III was born to the late Mrs. Pearl Scruggs Files and Mr. Edgar Ricks, Jr., on May 28, 1961. At an early age he confessed hope in Christ. He was a very vibrant and hard worker, who enjoyed family, friends, and lived life to the fullest. He departed this life on October 22, 2021, after a hard battle with COVID Complications. He is preceded in death by a son: Benjamin Earl Ricks, brothers: Joseph “Jim” Ricks, Ronnie “Bigman” Ricks, Donnie “Duck” Ricks and Calvin “Main-Main” Summerhill, his sisters: Edna “Jean” Ricks and Hortencia “Rochica” Beasley. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Kymwyn “Kym” Ricks, Florence, AL, Stepmother, Mamie Thomas, Sheffield, AL. Children: Kenya (Anthony) Congress, Decatur, AL, Amy Simpson, Pensacola, FL, Phonecia Holmes, Nicole Simpson, Damarick King all of Florence, AL, Jacquline Nix, Nevada, MO, and Anthony Gatewood of Sheffield, AL.
