Donnie Horrison Obituary
Mr. Donnie Dean “DoDo” Horrison was born June 11, 1950 to the late Novella Horrison, in the “Airport” community of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He confessed hope in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Cave Spring M.B. Church, Tuscumbia, Alabama. Donnie graduated from Leighton Training School in 1969 and went on to work for General Motors and the Alabama Department of Transportation, from where he ultimately retired. “DoDo” was the life of any occasion, bringing happiness and laughter to those around him. He could often be found watching sports; going for a drive; or sharing a funny story while wearing one of his many hats.
Donnie departed this earthly life on July 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry D. Hankins, siblings: Willie D. Hankins, Sadie Mae Horrison, Margarett Horrison-Allen, and Shirley Ann Hankins.
Donnie leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Rodreggcuz (Tameka) Horrison, Leighton, AL; a twin sister, Bonnie Jean Thompson, Florence AL; five sisters: Angela Horrison-Collier, Atlanta, GA, Kitty Hankins, Athens, AL, Dora Hankins, Sheffield, AL, Annie Pearl Smith and Rebecca Hankins, Florence, AL; six brothers: Andrew Horrison, Muscle Shoals, AL, Shephonia Waco Horrison, Florence, AL, Charlie (Annie) Hankins, Leighton, AL, Walter (Michelle) Hankins, Florence, AL, Larry (Renae) Hankins and Grover (Sophenia) Hankins, Sheffield, AL; three grandchildren: TaMya Ricks, Promise Horrison, and Kaylyn Horrison; one sister-in-law: Ellen Hankins, Saginaw, MI; a host of dearly loved nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Mr. Horrison will lie in the sanctuary one hour prior to the funeral service. Reverend F. Leotha Ingram, Pastor.
