Derrick was born April 19, 1980 in Sheffield, AL to Hazel Smith and Frankie Williams. He was proceeded in death by maternal grandmother Clara Smith Borner, maternal grandfather Edward O'Neal Smith and paternal grandparents and uncles Edward Earl Smith and Felix Williams.
Derrick was an Iron Worker with Union from 2012-2022, in which he was an apprentice in the year of 2015.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted mother: Hazel Smith (Sheffield, AL); father: Frankie Williams (Lima, OH); children: De’Marea Brown (Juice) Tuscumbia, AL, Derrick Smith, Jr. (Termite) Sheffield, AL and Lenaria Hankins (Killeen, TX); brothers: Jermaine Deon Smith (Latambra Jackson) Tuscumbia, AL, Robert Meade (Sheffield, AL); sister: Stephanie Smith (Sheffield, AL); six aunts: Doris Abernathy (West Babylon, New York), Margaret Payne (Charles) Williamsburg, VA, Clara Carter (Florence, AL), Arnetha Hardin (Bobby) Muscle Shoals, AL, Tasha Borner (Sheffield, AL), Annie Williams (Huntsville, AL); five uncles: William Thompson (Pat) Louisville, KY, David Smith (Exie) Amityville, NY, Larry Smith (Sheffield, AL), Charles Williams and David Williams both of Lima, OH; two nieces: Kynadi Smith (sister) and Kynslee Smith (Fat) Tuscumbia, AL; three nephews: Jaevian Smith (Big Homie) Tuscumbia, AL, Josiah Smith (Syfy) and Joshua Smith (Tada) both of Sheffield, AL and a devoted friend: Christy Barnett and family, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
