Derrick "D.O." Burnett

Derrick Sherrod Burnett-Howard was born in Crenshaw County, Alabama on July 22,1989 to Jacquelena Burnett and Darron Howard.

Derrick Confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Hopewell C.P. Church in Leighton, Alabama.

He was a sociable person, who loved to joke, have fun, and spend time with his Family and Friends.

He fought a good long fight. On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, God gently closed his eyes and whispered

“Peace Be Thine."

He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Joyce Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his children: Dale’sia Burnett and Ka’Lynn Richardson of Tuscumbia, Alabama and Kasleigh Stover of Decatur, Alabama, Zyelen and De’Khyri Burnett of Florence, Alabama and Messiah Burnett of Tuscumbia, Alabama, two stepsons: Aaron Hunter and Aiden Richardson of Tuscumbia, Alabama. His mother Jacquelena Burnett of Luverne, Alabama and Mother-in-law, Tara Stanback of Tuscumbia, Alabama, his Father, Darron Howard, of Dozier, Alabama. Two Grandmothers: Mary Burnett of Brantley, Alabama and Teresia Stanback of Tuscumbia, Alabama. Six sisters: Megan Burnett of Brantley, Alabama, Ashley Barnett of Luverne, Alabama, Courtney Burnett of Sheffield, Alabama, Carmen McCroskey of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Latamara McCroskey of Florence, Alabama, Raeishia Russell of Tuscumbia, Alabama. Seven brothers: Sergio (Jessica) Burnett of Green Cove, Florida, Carlos (Unitsia) Burnett of Brantley, Alabama, Joshua Burnett of Leighton, Alabama, C.J. Grant of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Dennoris Richardson of Tuscumbia, Alabama,  Jermaine Richardson, of Sheffield, Alabama and Demeterius Ramson of Tuscumbia, Alabama. Five special friends: Jada Luster, Errica Ramson, Diere Mathews, Deandre Ricks and Patrick Wooden. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
