David Perkins, born on January 31, 1963, passed away on June 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, connection, and cherished memories. He was a man who showed up for those he loved, and his presence touched the lives of many in meaningful ways.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Rev. Fredrick Webster Perkins; his mother, Mattie Teresa Sheppard Lewis; and his nephew, Fredrick Warren Coman.
He is survived by his children-Brandon Perkins, Marcelo Perkins, and Angele Perkins and his granddaughter, Tatyana Perkins-whom he loved with all his heart. He spoke of them often with pride and carried them in his heart always.
He leaves behind justin, a son not by blood but by bond, whose relationship with David was built on love, trust, and mutual respect.
David is also survived by his sisters, Georgetta Pender, Lashun Rutlan (Donald); his brothers, Fredrick Perkins Jr. (Catesha) and Maurice Davis; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss him dearly and remember him with love (as Zoei and Hermione would say: 'We love our Uncle David).
He is fondly remembered by Shadra Perkins, the mother of his children, with whom he shared many meaningful years, and lasting memories.
He held an enduring bond with Sheila Dale, his devoted companion and friend. Her children. and her granddaughter Aubri-affectionately known to David as "Papoose"— also held a special place in his heart.
David also shared a special connection with Maxine Forbes a bond marked by care and mutual respect during their time together.
David will be warmly remembered by many dear friends who became like family- each touched
by his spirit, his laughter, and the warmth he carried with him.
He loved deeply and was deeply loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew
him.
