Mr. Cornell “Lamar” Phillips peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the graceful age of 46. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to his family, and above all, God. Lamar was born on January 14, 1979, in Florence, Alabama, to Carver and Karen Philips.
He received his formal education at Oxford High School and was later employed at Clayton Homes. Lamar was a member of Second Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Tommy H. Clay. Lamar enjoyed watching movies, shopping, and spending quality time with his son and trusted companion, Omar “Coach” Phillips.
Lamar leaves to cherish his memories:
Parents, Carver and Karen Philllips; his son, Cahlese Phillips; his siblings Christy Phillips Puntar (John), Keshia Sears (P.J), Ramono Craig, Aleshia Phillips, and the late Roy Lee Chucky Mullins; aunts, Kelia Phillips, Cardelia Dale (Jack), Carol Phillips, and special aunt, Linda Winston; uncles, Barry Robinson, Danny Phillips (Trina), Craig Phillips (Dorothy), Brent Phillips (Renae), John Wadlow, Alford Phillips, and Chris Phillips; nieces, KaLesha Sears, Antoyia Sears, Ramyia Craig, and Kylie Puntar; nephews, Anthony Puntar and Raylon Craig; he also leaves additional nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of special loving friends.
Lamar has earned his eternal rest. Lamar and his love, giving heart, and lavish dressing style will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
