Corey Dequinta Jones

Mr. Corey Dequinta Jones, of Gadsden, Alabama, was born January 25, 1977, to Sharon Pointer and Edward Jones. Corey attended Emma Samson High School and later received his GED in 2010. He departed his life on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Huntsville Hospice Care in Huntsville, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lavarius Jones; grandmothers, Amanda Jones and Estella Easley; aunt, Kelly Herron; and uncle, Alfonzo Jones.

Corey’s memory will forever be cherished by those he held dear:

three children, Corteja Curry, Corey (Sakikiya) Smith, JerNyah Jones; two grandchildren, Phillip Davis and Ta’Kai Smith; parents, Sharon (Wayne) Pointer and Edward (Bobbie) Jones; one brother, Antonin Jones; one sister, Sharonna (Dexter) Russell; significant other, Danyetta Clark; five aunts, Tamika Herron, Kewanee (Craig) Dudley, YoLanda (Leamon) Smith, Barbara Jones, and Rhonda (David) Moore; two uncles, Zack (Shona) Easley and Willie Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
