Mr. Clarence Edward Jones, Sr. “Big Bo” was born June 28, 1955, to the late Johnnie and the late Ollie Mae Jones of Town Creek, Alabama. He was the fourth of ten children. On Thursday October 9, 2025, God gave Clarence his wings to reach his Heavenly home.
Clarence gave his life to Christ at an early age and became a member of Bethel Colbert Missionary Baptist Church. Clarence was very active in several ministries, he was a member of the Deacon Board, Superintendent of Sunday School, also a dedicated member of the Bethel Colbert Mass Choir.
Clarence was a graduate of Hazelwood High School and the class of 1974. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, who served his country from 1974-1978. He was also an employee at Brown’s Ferry Nuclear Plant for 23 years until retirement.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memories of six loving and devoted children: three daughters, Shanell Johnson (Tony) of Byram, MS, Shaye Hewlett (Mitchell) of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Nakeysa Bynum of Sheffield, AL; three sons, Shondel King (April) of Madison, AL, Clarence Jones, Jr. (Ashley) of Athens, AL, and Terrance Jones of Leighton, AL; brothers, John Hunter Jones (Carolyn) of Tuscumbia, AL, Frankie Jones (Wanda) and Earnest Jones, both of Town Creek, AL, and Anthony Jones (Angela) Decatur, AL; sisters, Angela Brooks, Alexander Virginia, Gloria Penchion (Clarence) of Huntsville, AL, Shirley Jones of Birmingham, AL, Janie Jones of Town Creek, AL, and Janet Jones of Florence, AL; a special friend, Patricia Ann Farrar; twenty-seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
