Her Life is a beautiful, Inspirational Memory. Her absence is a Silent Grief. She rest in God's beautiful garden. In the sunshine of perfect peace.
Clara Bell Thompson Cowley, a native of Tuscumbia, Alabama, was born on April 8, 1947, to the union of the late Britton Thompson and Connie Mae Watts Thompson. She departed this life on Friday, March 15, 2019. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age, was baptized, and became a member of Mt. Olievia Missionary Baptist Church until she later joined Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She sang in the church choir and continued to serve faithfully in the church until her health began to fail. She had a beautiful voice.
Clara Bell attended Trenholm High School and later earned her General Education Diploma in 1972. Clara Bell married Booker Thomas Coley in October 2, 1980 and to that union was born one son, Eric O'Neal Cowley. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was also employed as a housekeeper, baby sister, and as a cook at Seven C's Restaurant.
Clara Bell loved singing. She was talkative, she never met a stranger. She was a people person and would not hesitate to start a conversation with anyone. Most importantly, She loved her family. Her kindness and strength glowed with beauty inside and outwards, regardless of her illnesses.
Clara Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Brooker Thomas Cowley. She leaves to cherish her memories: One son, Eric O'Neal Cowley; Two brothers: Carl Gene Thompson (Nora) and Ronnie Thompson; One aunt: Sadie Watts; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; Devoted cousins: Bo Hogan, Ella Mae Garner, Hattie McKinley, and Bertha Gadd; A special friend: Rosetta Young
