Obituary
Mr. Charles Hollis, Sr. was born on June 20, 1953 to the late Percy and Willie Mae Hollis.
He departed this life on December 3, 2022.
He confessed his life to Christ and joined the First Missionary Baptist Church in Sheffield, Alabama, where he was a faithful deacon, usher, van driver, and member of the Men’s Sunday School class.
Charles was loved by many. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He never hesitated to share the fruits of his hobbies.
He held a special place for his grandchildren and was affectionately known as “Poppy”.
Charles leaves to cherish his loving memories: Children: Marcus (LeJanay) Acklin,
Tonia Morris, Charles Hollis, Jr., and Kimberly Hollis; Sisters: Pat (Leroy) Moore, Linda
Goodman, and Ruby (Eddie) Brown; Brothers-in-law: Granison Rogers, Perry Rogers,
and Tim Rogers; Sisters-in-law: Ruby Rogers and Gayle (Billy) Hampton; Grandchildren: Diamond Acklin, Kaiya Morris, Aleece Hollis, and Charlee Acklin; Best friend since first grade: Simon Goodloe; Special friends: Bob Goodloe, Fred Bates, Sr., Edward King, Sr. Curtis Jones, Vernon Pillar, Arthur Thompson, and Hector Haley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
