Charles Edward Andrews, Sr., was born February 5, 1948 in Kingsland. He departed this life on Monday, July 15, in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Charles accepted Christ at an early age at First African Missionary Baptist Church. Charles married Mary Joyce McReynolds in December 1974, and to this union two sons were born, Charles Jr. and Solomon.
Charles attended Tuskegee University and was employed by the Alabama Cooperative Extension service, in Colbert and Lauderdale Counties for 34 years. He was an active and lifetime member with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Charles was preceded in death by his sister, father and grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Mary Joyce Andrews; two sons, Charles Edward Andrews, Jr., of Houston, Texas, Solomon Benjamin (Leslie) Andrews, of Canton, Michigan; grandson, Michael Benjamin Andrews, of Canton, Michigan; Mother, Mercedia Andrews of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; sisters-in-law: Freddie Roby, California, Emma Gamblin, Redwood City, California, Claranett Hathorn, Lexington, Mississippi Dorothy Barnes (Otho) Bassfield of Mississippi, Brothers-in- law: Albert McReynolds (Kathy) of Redwood City, California, Columbus McReynolds (Pearlean) of Louisville, Mississippi, Evia McReynolds of Redwood City, California, Keith McReynolds (Carolyn) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Allen McReynolds (Reta) of Louisville, Mississippi, Haley Dawkins, Lansing, Michigan, Charles Massey of Kingsland, Georgia, special friends: Oscar (Anna) Meredith of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
