Catherine Roberson was the daughter of the late William Lee Roberson and Susie Lee Sanders Roberson. She was born on December 15, 1949, in Colbert County, Alabama. She departed this life June 18, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones, at North Alabama Medical Center- Florence, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Peters II Missionary Baptist Church-Tishomingo, MS. Later, she united with Ekklesia Ministries- Sheffield, Alabama serving faithfully as a member and later as a mother in the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents: Mr. Robert "Rob" Roberson and Dora Abernathy Roberson, James Sanders, and Lere Beachum Sanders; two brothers, Robert Lee Roberson, Larry Donnell Davis, and a loving aunt, Pearlie Roberson.
Catherine was affectionally known as "Cat", "Momma Cat", "Big Sis", and Grandma Catherine. Catherine was the mother of one son, but affectionally had a hand in raising her cousins. She was a faithful member until her health started to fail. She loved being a mother and working with the Mother's Board. She enjoyed preparing many family meals. She loved flowers and hats. She had a very straightforward personality. She attended school in Cherokee, Alabama.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Robert Donnell Roberson, of Sheffield, AL; one loving daughter, Carla Long (Willie) of Cherokee, AL; two sisters, Lorene Martin (William) of Muscle Shoals, AL; Sheila Pride (Kenneth, Sr.) of Cherokee, AL; one brother, Elbert (Pop) Robinson Jr. (Alice) of Tuskegee, AL; four loving foster children, La Taveous Walker, Erica Foote, Clarence Tyson III, Jeremiah Mason, all of Sheffield, AL; A very loving and dear friend, Mrs. Jeanette Thorn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
