Bryant Keith Petty Jr., age 29, departed this earthly life on September 18, 2025. He was born on June 19, 1996, to the late Bryant Sr. and Karen Petty.
Bryant graduated from Muscle Shoals High School in 2014 before earning an associate’s degree from NWSCC. He began his career with Norfolk Southern alongside his father and later became a skilled Journeyman Millwright of Local 1192. His work took him across the country, and he embraced every moment, turning his travels into adventures.
Bryant’s greatest joy was being a father, a role in which his love and devotion shone brightest. He will be remembered for his laughter, quick wit, firm handshake, adventurous spirit, boundless energy, and his lasting impact on all he met. Bryant had a gift for turning ordinary moments into something extraordinary.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bryant Petty Sr.; his grandmother, Julia Mae Petty; and his grandfather, John D. Alexander.
He leaves to cherish his memories:
the love of his life and devoted wife, Katlyn Petty of Muscle Shoals, AL; his beloved daughters, Penelope Petty (age 5) of New York, and Paxleigh Petty (age 1) of Muscle Shoals, AL; his loving mother, Karen Petty of Muscle Shoals, AL; his brother, Davonte Petty of Florence, AL; his grandmother, Annie Alexander; aunts, Linda Madden Johnson (John Paul) of Muscle Shoals, AL, Peggy Rhodes of Florence, AL, Marsha Petty of Decatur, AL, Bridgette Phillips (Dewayne) of Tuscumbia, AL, and Amanda Pride of Florence, AL; uncle, Anthony Alexander (Charlotte) of San Diego, CA, Bryant Alexander (Crystal) of Decatur, AL, Anthony Petty of Oklahoma, Cleophas Madden of Sheffield, AL, and James Green of Muscle Shoals, AL; one niece, Jayla Petty of Florence, AL; and a host of extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man who will never be forgotten. Bryant believed in living life his own way—especially known for his laid-back dress code of mostly Auburn gear and Crocs at all times. In his spirit, please feel free to come in Auburn attire or whatever makes you comfortable, just as he would have wanted.
