Mr. Bobby Edward Cheatom was born on May 29, 1948, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Thelma Cheatom of Leighton, Alabama, and the late Rily Cheatom. He departed this life on October 25, 2023, at his residence in Town Creek, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Town Creek, Alabama, where he remained until his health declined. He drove the church van and worked in the sound room. He was a dedicated worker at Mauldin Farms for over thirty years. He was preceded in death by a devoted mate Betty Cosby. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Thelma Cheatom of Leighton, Alabama; three brothers, Thomas King of Town Creek, Alabama, Donnie Cheatom of Leighton, Alabama, and Walter (Daisy) Doss of Sheffield, Alabama; five sisters, Mattie Perkins, Romelia Ford, Phyllis Carter, Etta Cheatom, and Sarah Cheatom, all of Leighton, Alabama; six stepchildren in whom he had a hand raising, Betty Brown of Leighton, Alabama, Cora (Dale) Payne of Trinity, Alabama, Chiquita Billings of Robertsdale, Alabama, Kenneth (JoAnn) Cosby of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, James Cosby, and Barry Cosby of Town Creek, Alabama; special god-granddaughter who he helped raised, Nija Warren of Town Creek, Alabama; nineteen grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
