Mr. Billy Milton Shaw was born July 23, 1937 to the late Roosevelt and Ada Mae Shaw in Tuscumbia, Alabama. He graduated from Trenholm High School and enlisted into the United States Army where he served his country for 28 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant (E8). After retiring he made his home in Columbus, Georgia and joined the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Years later he moved back home to Tuscumbia, Alabama and united with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, Alabama. He enjoyed singing and praying with the deacons. He served faithfully until his health failed. He departed this life on February 5, 2020, at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, Alabama. He was preceded in death by a son, William Shaw.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife, Edith Mae Shaw; Two sons, Alan (Christina) Shaw of Ocala, Florida and Donald (Chanita) Shaw; three daughters, Theresa Shaw, Dorothy Kimbrough, and Jackie Shaw all of Georgia; stepchildren, Alvin Belue, Dessie Lyle, Deborah Belue, Jackie Bush, Ella (Walter) Jackson; two sisters, Julia Drumgood of Ohio and Martha (Arthur) Hullett of Huntsville, Alabama; two brother, James Shaw of Muscle Shoals, Alabama and William (Jackie) Shaw, Huntsville, Alabama; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
